Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF)

Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF) treatment is used in dentistry to; lower the risk of infection, accelerate healing, and decrease post-operative discomfort. PRF treatment boosts your own body’s healing by concentrating the healing components of your blood. Prior to starting a surgical procedure, such as an extraction, the doctor will draw a small amount of your blood from your arm. That blood will then be spun in a centrifuge in order to separate and concentrate the plasma, platelets, and fibrin. This Platelet Rich Fibrin can then be applied to the surgical site to improve healing, decrease post-operative discomfort, and decrease risk of infection.
